Look what I got!

I think I mentioned before that I LOVE to receive hand made cards...shocking? Probably not.  I do MAKE them all the time...but it reminds me how great it feels to GET one!!

I got this in the mail on Friday from Missy who is an upline of mine.  Apparently, I was in the Top Ten Sellers in her group in April! (Yeah Me!).  But the best part?  I got THIS CARD!

In fact, I love it so much, I am going to "borrow" her super simple and simple cute design and use it for my June workshops!!  Now I can share my special card with all of you!  Let me know when you want to schedule your summer workshop...

Flowers, Flowers Everywhere...

For the past few days I've been showing you so super cute samples of cards that I made at Stampfest using ALL THE NEW GREAT products in the NEW Summer Mini.  Today, I'm moving on to three new flower sets that I'm sure you're gonna love..

First up, Fabulous Florets Stamp Set...

I love this color combination...Cherry Cobbler, Elegant Eggplant & a little Cajun Craze.  Simple, but stunning.

This card is so tropical to me...which is befitting of the weather here today...warm & sticky.  Take a close look at the whisper white focal image...it's embossed with the new Flower Garden Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

And, if you like the sentiments shown...those are from the Happy Greetings set.

Next on the garden tour...the Flower Fest stamp set (a personal favorite, I might add!)

I love that this card can really be used for anything...get well, miss you, birthday..and another great color combo...Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry & Old Olive (and don't forget the pearls!)

See what a little square of the Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper can do! Instant color, pattern & FUN!

Oh, and don't let me forget to point out...that fat flower in the center punches out perfectly with the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch...Thank you Stampin' Up! for making my life easy! :)

Our last stop on the Garden Tour today is not so much a stamp set, but a NEW PUNCH.  This very cool new product is called the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch....and it works just like it sounds..you get THREE (count them...THREE!) images in ONE PUNCH.  It's punch heaven...

Here you see two of the images that it will punch...a full, solid floret (shown here in Daffodil Delight) and the floret border (shown here in Early Espresso)

But, like I said, there is ONE MORE image you can punch out...

The third image is this sweet cut out flower (that has those really cute pearls in the center again!).  How's THAT for versatility??

That concludes our Garden Tour for today...which do you think you'd like to plant in YOUR garden or craft room?? I would love to hear and also to see some cards you've made with these sets...

Oh, one other thing before I say goodbye for today....one of the fantastic benefits of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is that we get sneak peaks of new stuff that will be in the NEW 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog that is released in July....
Let me give you a little hint....DOILIES!! And, we're not talking about the one's Grandma has!!! I can't wait to get my hands on this new line and show all of you!

Nautical Expedition Suite

I have to say, I'm not a big fan of boats or the whole nautical thing...however, I do think they make for some great masculine cards this time of year and for birthdays.

It's also wy I really love getting together with my team mates each month is so I can see what they are doing and creating.  Teammate and fellow convention goer-Kris Huells made a FABULOUS display at Stampfest last weekend...just wait until you see these cards!

I'm starting to like boats more and more...

This set is called The Open Sea and looks just perfect with the gold brads!!  The NEW bakers twine (available in  early espresso/white, Cherry Cobbler/white & plain white) also works really well with this whole line...
This is another single stamp that is in the line called Sail Away.  The designer series paper also coordinates and gives it that extra "nautically" touch. (no, I don't think that's really a word)

This is a favorite of mine that Kris created...the background paper make it feel almost like a toile design...LOVE it!  And, do you see how she threaded the bakers twine through the anchor?  It's ALL in the details...

Yet another fantastic card design!

And, last but not least...here's a scrapbook page using the Nautical Expedition Line...

And there you have it....lots of Nautical goodness!

What is interesting about this line is that it also includes the Pretty Postage Stamp Set and Postage Stamp Punch...which is RIGHT up my alley!! I will have my samples using those products in a few days!

Tomorrow....we're gonna get a little FLOWERY & FUN!!

Strength & Hope

For the next few days I am going to show you some FABULOUS card ideas from some new sets in the NEW Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog.  Sometimes it helps to see them in "action" to know if you really need/want them.

Today I want to show you a set that really surprised me with its versatility...it's the Strength & Hope set. I have been living and breathing this set lately as this is THE stamp set I am using for my "Very Special Project" that I will be showing you all soon.

What I didn't realize is that it goes yards beyond "just" being a set that supports those impacted by Cancer.

Here, let me show you...

Wow, huh?
Beautiful colors, LOVE the pearls, the embossing....just one of those cards that make you stop and stare.  By the way, all these fantastic cards were created by a teammate of mine.  At StampFest there are display boards where a few demonstrators show their stuff each month...I LOVE being able to see what other people do!

I like this one too...so pretty.
This set looks great when it's pared with embossed paper and images!!

Now, for you scrapbookers out there...you're gonna want to play with this set too...

Just beautiful

This layouts is so great too.  I can just envision the picture she's going to put in there!

This was an additional display of  items using Strength & Hope...it's just SO DARN PRETTY!

There were more ideas...but those I'M keeping to myself...you'll probably see them pop up in a Stamp & Chat or a Workshop soon!!

If you'd like to purchase this set, you can go to my online store or give me a call. Another great thing about this set is that Stampin' Up! is donating $2.00 from the purchase to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.   Another great reason to start shopping!
Tomorrow, I'm gonna go a little "Nautical" on you!
Stay Tuned!!

What a Mess!

So, you want to see what happens when I am prepping for three Stampin' Scout Classes, working on my Super Special Project AND getting my Brownie Troop ready for their first camping trip...

For those of you who always ask me how I always keep my house so neat and tidy with four kids....here's your answer...I don't!!!  This drives me absolutely crazy, and NEEDS to be picked up and organized SOON.  Clearly, I am a very messy crafter...but I think I heard somewhere that the most creative people are ALWAYS messy....hmmmm.

(yes, just trying to make myself feel better and less anxious about this mess!)

While I'm here, I might as well show you one of the projects that lead to this disaster of a craft space!  Thursday I have a special request Stampin Scout Class...what's that? Well, a leader contacted me about creating an album cover "that had pockets" for the girls to make at their next meeting. You see, their leader is a Creative Memories Rep and has been scrapbooking with her girls all year...now they need an inexpensive and fun way to put all their Girl Scout memories together!!

So, after a little playing with the 8x8 page samples that the leader gave me, I came up with this...

The cover is a piece of Stampin' Up! textured cardstock that I cut 9 X 8 1/5...just the perfect size to cover the CM pages without being too big.  I used some chocolate chip cardstock to make the binding as well.  The one request by my GS leader was that the album be able to be added too over time with more pages...done!  Just untie the ribbon, untread the book and add some more pages!

Some of the cardstock papers I used are retired (typical in my Girl Scout classes) but I was dying to use this new Designer Paper from the current Idea Book & Catalog.  Check out how cute "Playdate" is.  Flowery and fun without being too prissy  or pink!  Of course, it's stamped...and a little "bling" along the way.  My goal was to use that flower paper as a photo border...I envision them adding their Troop Photo there later...how cute will that be!?

So, on to the inside...

This is the inside front cover....and where the "pockets" come into play.  The pocket with the Playdate numbers paper has a little piece of paper in it now...but I'm thinking movie tickets, notes from friends, maybe even some badges they haven't sewn on their uniforms yet!  The smaller pocket, I used for the girls to journal on...cute little tags with some ribbon and stamped with another flower.  It's hard to see, but the stamp on the front of the pocket say "So glad we're friends:.  That's what Girl Scouts is all about...

(Inside Back Cover)

Looks like a lot of scallop white ovals, huh?  Now, follow along with me, this represents the 13 girls (there are 13 ovals) in the troop.  My vision is that this is a cute place for each of them to sign their name, maybe even squeeze in a little note to whose ever album this is.  I punched out some flowers here too to keep with the theme.

Lastly, the outside back cover...

The stamped wording says "friendship" and that striped piece of paper you see is actually INSIDE a clear cello bag that is adhered to the album.. So, that means, this is ANOTHER clear pocket for the girls to add even more "stuff"....and best part...you can actually see what's in there!

To me, this was the PERFECT place for the girls to store those swaps or other special items that they get...they can be displayed and put in a safe spot with all their other cherished pictures.

SO, that is just one of the MANY things I am working on as of late...what do you think?

Even though this album is clearly made to be simple for the girls to complete at a meeting, you can easily alter and embellish this to create a FABULOUS album for YOUR photos as well!  If you need more specific directions on how I put this album together....just shoot me an email and I'll be happy to share!
